With this drawing I was trying to recreate an advert style image. They had a reputation for breaking and rotting but I still like that style. If only the build quality was better, it could have been a wonderful car.
At a later date I was asked to draw a “poverty spec” SD1 – Wheel trims on steel wheels, higher suspension, less chrome and rubbing strips etc.. This is how it ended up below. According to John Harper on twitter the colour is “wheelie bin green” 🙂
